Encaustic is a whole trip in itself. It’s painting with hot wax. There’s a lot you can do with it, like embedding objects into it. There are a lot of different effects and textures you can get with it. You can build it up and add on. It always maintains that soft sheen of wax.
I’m not going into to technical details or how to do it here. This is just a presentation of some of the abstracts I created while taking classes from Bev Ryan at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria Virginia in approximately 2020.
