This is a sneak preview of a project I’ve been working on. I won’t be able to get back to it until my move to North Carolina is complete and my studio is set up. With everything close to being packed, I can’t do a whole lot of art. I will still try to post every two weeks.

Below are two mirrors. Each one is shown in regular daylight and then under black light.

Sorry for the blue that is supposed to represent the mirror inside the frame. Not shown here are the black lite bulbs I have attached onto the top of the frames.

I believe we can call these mirrors “assemblages!” I’ve added three dimensional everyday “stuff” or found objects. Some of the 3-d items I have created with clay, such as the red amanita mushroom in the bottom left corner. It sticks out from the frame whereby you can hang a necklace or a scarf. Other items have been created with a 3-d printer. I’m also using traditional acrylic paints and phosphorescent paint (black lite) to render much of the imagery and to add decorative touches.

Can’t wait to get to my studio in my new forever home.
